Let Mommy Dearest Bring Perfection to Adult Halloween Costumes

This Halloween, bring out the dark side of motherhood by recreating Faye Dunaway’s role as the venerable Joan Crawford in the notorious tell-all movie “Mommy Dearest.” Nothing could be more frightening than a homemade costume channeling her mania and allegedly monstrous behavior.

Materials Needed:

• Black or white fancy robe or wrap dress
• Gawdy broach (the bigger the better)
• Deep red lipstick
• Dark eyebrow pencil
• Wire clothes hanger
• Blush or rouge
• Roses

1. Put on the fancy robe or wrap dress.
2. Pin the gaudy brooch to the lapel.
3. Draw in thick eyebrows and use heavy red lipstick. Dab rouge along your jawline up to your cheekbone to create an angular effect and blend.
4. Affix some rose petals to the dress and carry some broken roses.
5. Walk around thrashing a clothes hanger around while repeating “Tina! Bring me the axe!”
