20's Showgirl
The man in your life will bust his buttons when he sees his 1920s showgirl! Created in the mold of the flapper costume, the 1920 showgirl's finery resembles the risque Casino de Paris revue with lots of feathers and barely-there lingerie, loads of jewelry, fishnet stockings held by garter bands and, of course, high heel stilettos. Check out the white sequined roaring twenties costumes Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellweger wore at the end of "Chicago!" Mentioning showgirls and Paris in the same breath brings to mind the "Can-Can". Women dancers lift their dresses up in front while kicking their legs up to the ceiling. Originally, the French word Can-Can meant "Scandal" or "Edge" since they performed the dance at the edge of the stage and the legs were bare from the stockings to the frilly panties.
