Halloween masks for costumes

Masks have been worn from the beginning of time throughout the world. What is a mask but a covering worn on the face to conceal one's identity? With openings for the eyes and the choice of a full or partly concealed face, it is typically worn at masquerade balls, Mardi Gras parties, or even at Halloween get-togethers! They range from scary characters (like Chucky, Freddy or Jason) to superstars and cartoons, to bland old politicians! There are animal masks like wolves, gorillas and rats and pretty half masks of butterflies and peacocks. Did you know a Roman death mask is made of wax while the Egyptian death masks are thin and gold plated? Of course, the modern method first applies oil or grease to the face then a coat of plaster which is permitted to harden and then removed. This procedure results in a mold that is used to cast the mask.
