When Anakin becomes Darth Vader, he has to wear his mask for survival and to cover his hideous scars, not just because the mask is "cool". Consider this when you are wearing your Darth Vader mask and costume. You want to look cool, but you don't want to be uncomfortable the whole night just for the sake of a costume. Here are some great Halloween mask survival tips:

  • Make sure you have plenty of breathing room inside the mask, or make sure your mini Darth Vader does. Cut larger holes in the nose area to allow better ventilation, and trim the mask if it is way too large to allow some air ventilation.
  • Make sure you can see before you go party and make sure your little Darth is able to see well when trick or treating.
  • Feel free to take off your mask frequently at your Halloween party. If you are truly obsessed with remaining in costume, consider emulating some great burn scarring or the revealed Darth Vader of Return of the Jedi.
  • Drink plenty of fluids - the mask may cause you or your child to sweat a lot and dehydration is no way to have a good time.
  • Moisturize your skin and use a little baby powder to help absorb excess sweat.
