The Expectant Couple Halloween Costume: The Bun in the Oven
Pinpointing the right couple Halloween costume that will suit you and your better half takes some creativity. Couple Halloween costumes tend to fly off the shelves of costume shops well before Halloween comes into sight, making it difficult to find last-minute outfits. Worst of all, pre-packaged couple Halloween costumes often lack pizzazz, requiring too much accessorizing to make the costumes in question stand out. Luckily, you can create a frugal and fun couple Halloween costume with easily acquired materials and a little innovation.
Whether or not you’ve gotten a visit from the stork, this couple Halloween costume is sure to garner charmed laughter. With materials that are easy to come by, you can be sure to be the talk of the party as you venture out Halloween night.
Materials:
- Large cardboard box
- Paints and paintbrush
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Chef’s hat
- Scissors
- White apron
- Using the paints, paint the cardboard box black, gray or silver.
- On the front of the box, paint a large rectangular square in light yellow or white.
- Once the box dries, paint a black handle at the top of the box’s front.
- Using construction paper, cut out a bun-shape in brown paper and glue it within the rectangle.
- Cut circular holes on the box’s bottom and sides for arm and head holes.
- Have the woman wear the “oven” box, and have the man dress in the baker’s hat and apron!
