April Fools’ Day, sometimes called All Fools’ Day, is one of the most light-hearted days of the year. It is widely recognized and celebrated as a day where many people play all kinds of jokes and foolishness. It’s only natural that there would be a link between April fools pranks and funny costumes and accessories.

Back in the day when Anytime Costumes was just a small brick and mortar party goods store in Huntington NY, April Fools Day was a busy one for our novelty items. It was our best day of the year for items such as Fake Vomit, Snapping Gum, Artificial Dog Poop, Woopie Cushions and the good old Snake in the Peanut Can gag. Folks young and old would stop in to pick up a silly item to try and get one over on a friend, spouse or co-worker. It was always a day of laughs and certainly fun for us to be able provide these silly tricks to our valued customers.

These days you can go on-line and find a whole slew of practical jokes and pranks that are pulled off year after year. In fact there is even a website devoted to bringing you the most complete listing of April Fools’ Day Jokes that Web Sites have run each year from 2004 all the way up to today. At Anytime Costumes, we tend to see an up sell in our Adult Funny Costumes to celebrate the first day of April. Why not show up to work dressed as a Gorilla? You’re sure to get some laughs. Some people like to by costume wigs to fool their friends into thinking they went a little crazy at the hair salon. In our opinion, Funny costumes are great anytime of year and should not be reserved for just Halloween!

So be on your guard today and don’t let anyone make you the butt of their jokes.
