The 1960s saw war protests, the Beatles, and lots and lots of hairdos! No matter who you were back then, you probably sported one of the looks seen in our collection of 60s wigs. It takes a real pro and lots of hairspray to get your hair to match these styles, so why not make things easy on yourself by wearing one of these wigs instead? Both the bouffant and beehive looks were extremely popular during this era. The bouffant is made up of a large puff of hair on the top of the head. The strands that hung down were often flipped up. An even bigger statement was the beehive style which shapes your hair just the way it sounds- into a giant beehive! Both looks are available in our selection of wigs.
Guys who were part of the mod culture often wore mop-tops back in the 60s. These short hairdos were popularized by the Beatles. If that isn't quite the look that you're going for, you could also choose a shag wig. The shag is also a short look, but it has a jagged effect that was achieved by chopping the hair into several layers. Hairstyles were also a big part of cultural movements. Many African Americans grew out their natural hair into large round styles called Afros to distinguish themselves from the typical styles worn by Caucasians. Hippies also grew out their hair naturally and often braided it, and this became a distinctive feature of this subculture.
Our large assortment of 60s wigs honors the different hairstyles that were popular during this era. Choose one that coordinates with your Halloween look, and make sure to select one of our great 1960s costumes to go with it!
